TOY RUN - DURBAN

IN THE BEGINNING!
‘25th November, 2007 - Meeting at Pavilion Shopping Mall, Westville, Durban.
Mass rides leaves at 9.30am sharp down the N3 to the South N2 off ramp
continuing to Amanzimtoti Sports Grounds, on the N2, taking the Adams Road
turn-off, from the N2, turn 1st right and 1st right again after the bridge.
MASS RIDE NO-NO’S!
NO Pee-Wee’s, Off-road, Scooters and Quads bikes will be allowed on the Mass
Ride. It’s advisable to ride a bike that is highway capable. You are welcome to
trailer the bikes down to the end venue.
Helmets are to be worn on the Mass ride.
We will be travelling at approximately 80kph under Metro and RTI escort,
speeding will not be allowed or appreciated. Please go and race elsewhere not
amongst the riders. We do not want any accidents on this day!
MAIN SPONSOR!
‘Lords and Legends Restaurant and Pub’ are supporting this event and have
sponsored the site etc., please support them as they have done for Durban Toy
Run.
2 Sports fields have been allocated to Durban Toy Run.
THE CHALLENGE!
We want to collect 25,000 toys for the 25th Toy Run anniversary! Can you do it?!
Well I’m hoping so…there’s an awful lot of kiddies this year and I’m sure you
don’t want to disappoint them either …so dig deep and donate lots!
ENTERTAINMENT
Several Stalls will be displaying the latest bikes, kiddies will be entertained
with clowns and jumping castles etc., a family affair so come one come all.
AUCTION!
Of course the Presidents are going to be auctioned off! The President to get the
most will choose the charity of his choice and all the money raised will go to
this charity!
UNDER-COVER!
2 huge marques, one for the 30m Pub and 20 barmen, cold beverages and several
bands on 2 stages, the other for the Toy donations, food and regalia.
THE CHARITIES!
The charities to receive these toys will be there to collect between 1 and 2pm
and they are bringing some of their kiddies with them. Namely:
Bobbi Bear, CHOC, Malvern and Ethelbert Children Homes, St Mary’s, St Vincents
Homes, Aids Villages, Dare to Dream, LIONS Service Clubs, Churches, Hospitals,
Rural Homes and so the list keeps growing. We need as many Toys as you can
donate PLEASE!
SERVICES!
Natal Blood Bank will also be there so please support them.
SABC 2, and other media will be video taping and taking photo’s along the route
and on site.
