MEMORIAL FUND
Following the unfortunate death of longstanding organizing Committee member
Bruce Morgan in 1999, it was suggested by family and friends that in lieu of
flowers or other tributes, donations be made to The Motorcycle Toy Run in
memory of Bruce as it was a cause very close to his heart. Since then The
Motorcycle Toy Run Company has been approached with similar offers and also
requests for assistance by hospitalized Motor Cyclists in financial aid
shortfalls. With this in mind the Memorial fund was founded to provide a
vehicle for Bikers to be immortalized at the Toy Run each year and provide a
living benefit to those less fortunate in our society and Motorcycle
fraternity.
What is the Fund
As a section 21 Company the finances are "open book" and the volunteer directors
are charged with all the responsibilities of directors under the companies act.
The fund is operated as a separate account in the books of the company, and
receives donations from its donors in memorial to them (or as living memorial
if donations are made specifically to this fund).
Who Benefits
All the normal beneficiaries of the Motorcycle Toy Run Company are eligible
beneficiaries to the funds proceeds, upon application to the fund
administrators. (Run very much like a trust fund) Together with persons from
the motorcycle fraternity that find themselves on exceptionally hard times from
causes beyond their control (examples of this is assistance with medical
treatment costs / family cost if the bread winner becomes incapacitated etc.)
